  Well, since you'll be editing video you'll need processing power so I'd say go with the MacBook since it's faster. Just because it says "Pro" doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna do a better job. A MacBook Pro is only as good as the parts in it... The only reason you'd really need the Pro is if you wanted to play video games on it (actually, I think the MacBook your looking at might do a better job at games than the Pro your looking at).

  You should be fine though, I close my lid all the time, and put it into my backpack and the lights not blinking yet. If you were to drop it or hit it then you might be in trouble, but moving it around wont do much...
